4. Aftercare Advice
Keep off treated surfaces
Avoid walking on cleaned surfaces until dry. Wet surfaces cleaned with biocidal treatments may remain slippery until fully dry. Do not allow children or pets onto treated areas until drying is complete.
Surface sealing (recommended)
Applying a penetrating surface sealant after cleaning significantly extends results, reduces future biological growth, and makes subsequent cleans easier. Ask your operative for a recommendation if you are interested.
Biological regrowth
Moss, algae, and lichen will return over time, particularly in shaded or damp areas. Where a biocidal treatment has been applied, you may notice continued die-back and darkening of organic matter over the following 2–4 weeks as the treatment continues to work. This is normal.
Jointing and pointing
High-pressure cleaning can dislodge loose or deteriorated jointing sand or pointing mortar. Inspect jointing after the surface has dried and top up where necessary. Your operative can advise on suitable products.
Routine maintenance
Keeping surfaces clear of leaf debris, standing water, and organic matter between professional cleans will extend results. Annual or biennial professional cleaning is recommended for most domestic surfaces.
