1. Definitions

"The Contractor" means the pressure washing business named above. "The Client" means the person or organisation who has engaged the Contractor to carry out work. "The Works" means the pressure washing services agreed between the parties as set out in the quotation or job sheet.

2. Quotations and Scope of Work

All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Quotations are based on information provided by the Client and the Contractor's site assessment. The Contractor reserves the right to revise the quoted price if the scope or condition of the work differs materially from what was assessed.

Any additional work requested by the Client that falls outside the agreed scope will be subject to a separate price, agreed in writing before the additional work proceeds.

3. Access and Site Preparation

The Client is responsible for ensuring clear, safe access to all areas to be cleaned before the Contractor's arrival. This includes removing vehicles, garden furniture, plant pots, and any loose items from the work area. Where access is not possible, the Contractor reserves the right to charge for wasted time at the agreed hourly rate or to reschedule at the Client's cost.

The Client must identify the location of all outdoor water supplies, drainage points, electrical fittings, and any fragile or sensitive items near the work area prior to the start of work.

4. Pre-Existing Condition

The Contractor will carry out a pre-clean surface condition assessment and, where agreed, provide the Client with a copy of the Pre-Clean Surface Condition Report. The Client is invited to inspect the site with the Contractor before work begins.

The Contractor accepts no liability for damage to surfaces, structures, or property that is attributable to pre-existing deterioration, defects, fragility, or conditions that were present before work commenced and documented in the condition report.

5. Liability and Insurance

The Contractor holds public liability insurance as stated above. Liability is limited to the indemnity limit stated on the Contractor's policy for any single claim.

The Contractor shall not be liable for:

  • Damage caused by pre-existing defects or deterioration of surfaces
  • Damage to items not removed from the work area prior to commencement
  • Colour change or fading of surfaces where this is a natural result of cleaning or the age of the surface
  • Damage caused by following the Client's specific instructions against the Contractor's recommendation
  • Indirect or consequential losses of any kind

6. Results and Expectations

Pressure washing can significantly improve the appearance of surfaces but cannot guarantee the complete removal of all staining, discolouration, or biological growth, particularly where staining is deeply embedded, chemically bonded, or where surfaces are aged or deteriorated. The Contractor will advise the Client where results may be limited before work begins.

The Contractor does not guarantee results on surfaces that have not been previously assessed in person or where the Client has declined a pre-clean inspection.

7. Payment Terms

Payment is due on completion of the Works unless otherwise agreed in writing. Where invoiced, payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date. The Contractor reserves the right to charge interest on late payments at 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, where applicable.

For jobs over £500, the Contractor may require a deposit of up to 50% prior to scheduling. Deposits are non-refundable where cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the scheduled start time.

8. Cancellation and Rescheduling

The Client may cancel or reschedule without charge with more than 48 hours' notice. Cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled start time may be subject to a cancellation charge of up to 50% of the agreed job price to cover preparation costs and lost scheduling time.

The Contractor reserves the right to reschedule work in the event of weather conditions that make safe working impractical. In such cases, no cancellation charge will be applied.

9. Re-Clean Policy

If the Client is dissatisfied with any aspect of the completed work, they must notify the Contractor in writing within 48 hours of completion. The Contractor will inspect the reported area within 5 working days and, where the concern is found to be valid, will carry out a re-clean of the specific area at no additional charge.

Re-clean requests will not be accepted where the Client's dissatisfaction relates to results that were identified as limited prior to work commencing, or where the surface has been subjected to further contamination, traffic, or weather since completion.

10. Environmental Responsibility

The Contractor will take reasonable steps to prevent chemical runoff from entering watercourses, drains connected to surface water, or neighbouring land. The Client must advise the Contractor of any known drainage or environmental sensitivity on site prior to work commencing. The Contractor cannot accept liability for environmental consequences arising from site conditions not disclosed by the Client.

11. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Acceptance

Proceeding with the booking or allowing work to commence constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions in full. A signed copy of this document will be retained by the Contractor.
